Evolve Surplus divert 47 metric tonnes of ‘scrap steel’

Overview

Turning scrap into strength with 47 Tonnes of what had been classified as ‘scrap steel’, repurposed for critical infrastructure support.

Evolve Surplus has successfully diverted over 47 metric tonnes of what had been classified as ‘scrap steel’, by enabling it to be repurposed for an impactful project. Instead of the material being lost to waste, these robust and heavy-duty steel plates were transformed into durable bog mats, where it reduced impact to the environment and provided safe, secure access for construction works.

These mats are being used to facilitate piling operations, including the execution of services that utilise repurposed oil and gas casing, showcasing how materials considered ‘waste’ by others, can be used as valuable materials in alternative use cases. This not only reduces waste and provides greater returns for asset owners, but further delivers practical, on-the-ground solutions for demanding project environments.

This project is yet another clear example of Evolve Surplus’s unwavering commitment to driving sustainability and actively contributing to the circular economy, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry. Through innovative thinking and purposeful redirection of surplus materials, we continue to help reshape how industrial waste is viewed and reused.
